Well, Word constructs a connection string containing whatever path name is required to specify the "database", and uses it to open the document. Here's the strange part. If you tell it "No" on the SQL check dialog, the file opens and I can go to "Open Data Source" and point to the file that way. When I try to import the data into mail merge, none of my tables show up (see attachment). When the project was created, it was associated with the SQL database.
